As of Monday morning, City of Sealy officials were waiting for lab results on the city’s water quality according to Mayor Carolyn Bilski.

Residents can sign up for the city’s public notification system and be notified when the boil water notice will be officially lifted. Notification settings can also be tailored to provide updates on the city, buildings and public works by visiting cityofsealy.bbcportal.com.

An arrest is not proof of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Austin County voters will return to the polls to let their voices be heard in the City of Sealy Council and Sealy ISD Board of Trustee races May 1.

The Sealy News will host election forums on Facebook Live for viewers and readers to hear directly from the candidates on hot-button topics in their campaigns. Each of the candidates will be recorded in an individual interview and once all of the candidates are interviewed, a full video will be created and shared to include everyone's answers.

Although the Sealy Tiger soccer team fell in its final two contests of round one of play within District 20-4A, head coach Juan Perez didn’t see them as a hindrance to the team’s playoff hopes. “The thing is, I was expecting something like this,” Perez said after last Friday’s home loss.

Emilian John Kaminski was born to Mary Koteras and John Kaminski on October 29, 1931 in Chappell Hill, Texas. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 11, 2021, in Bellville, Texas. Emilian spent his last three years suffering from dementia at Colonial Belle Nursing Home in Bellville. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the family was not able to be with him during his last hours.

Eddie always said, “You’ll never get out of this world alive!” He was right. Edwin Watts Deats, Eddie, left this earth in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday, February 4, 2021.
