Figueroa climbs discus list

The Faith Academy track team competed at the Brookshire Royal Relays on March 11 and freshman Noah Figueroa climbed up to second all-time in school history with a discus throw of 109 feet, 4 inches. Although Figueroa hadn’t competed in the discus event since he was in sixth grade, he didn’t miss a beat and registered fourth place overall with his throw.

Two meets, two records

Sealy Junior High athlete Gavin Almaguer set the school record for the 2400-meter run with a time of 8:06.94 at the junior high meet hosted at T.J. Mills Stadium in Sealy last Tuesday. Tennis hosts meet

The Sealy Tiger tennis team hosted a quad meet last week and competed against Brazos, Louise and Rice after another host match was rained out the week prior. Head coach Joni Baxley said this year’s team has navigated through the COVID-19 protocols but has been glad to just be able to play after not fielding a spring team before things were shut down at the onset of the pandemic.

Tigers take on Waller

Tuesday, March 2, the Sealy Lady Tiger golf team took on the Sand Hill Farm Golf Course for a tournament hosted by Waller High School and came away with a solid finish. Head coach Lonnie Goad said Linsey Dziadek performed well and freshman Kaylie Dabney did well in her first varsity golf action.
