During Monday morning chapels, Faith Academy students we recognized for their 3rd Quarter academic accomplishments: A Honor Roll, A & B Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance.

Texas state Sen. Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) visited Texas State Technical College’s Fort Bend County campus Wednesday, March 23, and experienced firsthand the hands-on training that TSTC offers to students.

Sealy High School’s One Act Play company of Wise Children recently earned straight 1’s from the judges and was named Bi-District Champions once again. In addition to having the best performance, the company also earned best crew honors.

Sealy High School’s Mariana Ponce recently competed in the Young Escoffier High School Virtual Culinary Scholarship Competition and took first place. She was awarded a $3,000 scholarship to the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and earned an additional $500 for being a finalist.

All three Brazos Cougar representatives at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association’s Division 3 State Championship registered personal-record totals to close the season. Joey Townsend (4th place – 165-pound class) and Kasey Zientek (5th place – 220-pound class) both returned with medals with totals that surpassed 1,000 pounds.

In Austin County, Vote Centers will be used for the May 7 General Election and all future elections, the county’s Election Official Kim Rinn said Monday. In Vote Centers, also known as the Countywide Polling Place Program, enables any registered voter within the county to vote at any Vote Center polling place on Election Day,” a March 28 release said.

The Sealy Area Historical Society is hosting a Spring Fest April 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sealy Historical Park at 211 East Main Street. There is a great lineup of entertainment scheduled all day, including the Polish dance group Wawel and singer/songwriter/ author Mike Blakely.
