Following their state semifinal appearance, the Bellville Brahmanette volleyball squad had three players honored with allstate distinction from the Texas Girls Coaches Association and had another player that will represent Bellville at the all-star game during the TGCA summer clinic.

Two of the three allstate representatives also garnered legacy all-star honors as well as academic all-state distinction alongside two more Brahmanettes.

Seniors Sadie McKay and Daelyn Warmke closed their careers with TGCA all-state and legacy all-star recognition as well as a spot on the academic all-state list awarded by the Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas Army National Guard. Classmate Sarah Rogers joined them on the TGCA allstate team in her final high school season.

Bellville junior Madison Morgan will represent the Brahmanettes at the TGCA all-star game at the summer clinic and will play on the red team alongside other all-stars from Classes 1A to 4A after providing offensive firepower opposite of Rogers.

Warmke and McKay were joined by team manager Jennifer Cervantes in earning a spot on THSCA’s second team academic allstate while senior setter Katie Atkinson landed on the first team academic all-state to close their Bellville volleyball careers.

The Brahmanettes finished 9-1 in District 24 and claimed the top seed heading into the playoffs where they reached the state tournament for the first time since 2013. It was Bellville’s 16th time reaching the final stages of the volleyball postseason over the last 44 years with Susan Brewer as the head coach.

For just the third time, the Brahmanettes finished as state semifinalists after also finishing the season there in 2000 and 2008. Bellville has also been a state finalist four times and has won nine state championships, including a string of six between 1990 and 1997.
