In their fifth regular-season game of the year, the Faith Academy Knights fell to the Cornerstone Christian Academy Cougars 64-38.

The visiting Cougars held a 34-17 lead at the halftime intermission and outscored the Knights 30-21 in the second half despite a 20-point night from Faith Academy junior Kaleb Shepherd. Shepherd added seven rebounds and two steals but it was sophomore Jonah Taake who led the team in rebounds with 12 and added seven points to earn the player of the week.

Head coach Joe Riley was proud of the effort and looked forward to getting back on the floor.

“The Knights showed a lot of heart and improvement in working together,” Riley said.

Also contributing to the scoring included junior Landon Snyder who finished with six points and 11 rebounds. Defensively, freshman Josh Bright recorded three steals and three rebounds.

Faith Academy hit the road earlier this week to face Flatonia and will host Southwest Christian Academy Thursday for senior night. That contest will be followed by another road trip, this one to face the Richard Panthers, Friday evening.
