With a 64-50 win over Edna last Saturday to start 2021, the Sealy Tiger boys’ basketball team opened this week of play with a 4-3 overall record.

Sealy traveled to Magnolia earlier this week to face Legacy Prep Christian Academy and will host Brazosport Christian this Saturday afternoon. After that, the Tigers will open district play against the Wharton Tigers on the road on Jan. 12.

The boys split their final two non-district games of 2020 while on holiday break where they took down Snook 69-41 on Dec. 28 then fell to Schulenburg 70-66 on Dec. 29 to start the season on even footing following a delayed start due to the football playoffs overlapping.

Through seven games, Tigers had outscored opponents 396-328 with their largest margin of victory registered on Dec. 8 over Columbus at 60-31.

After Saturday’s non-district finale, Sealy will close round one of district play on the road in Bellville on Jan. 26 before hosting the Brahmas to end the regular season on Feb. 12 where the final playoff seedings will be determined. The Tigers are looking to return to the postseason for the first time since the 2012-2013 season.
