The Sealy Tiger team tennis squad was in action in Navasota April 1 and in Waller April 7 (JV) and brought back multiple wins and a handful of medals as well. Sealy then moved on to preparations for the District 24-4A Championships held earlier this week in Bellville.

At the Navasota Invitational, Eric Wilson took first place from the boys’ singles bracket for his second gold medal of the season and first since Jan. 29 at Brazosport. Abigail Zientek and Seth Pine also earned first place in the mixed doubles consolation bracket, a repeat of their performance in the March 25 Wharton Tournament.

Also in boys’ singles, Carlos Godoy registered second place overall and traded places with Wilson who finished as runner-up in Wharton March 25 while Godoy won that bracket. Hayden Havel and Jacob Gajewski represented the Tigers with a second-place finish in boys’ doubles.

Trinity Harding and Connor Vesely debuted as a pairing and finished third overall in the mixed doubles circuit. Cameron Eschenburg and Norman Juarez also earned a bronze medal in the boys’ doubles bracket.

At the Waller JV Tournament April 7, Colby Eschenburg and Nik Young earned second place in the boys’ doubles bracket in their second tournament as a pairing this year.

Those tournaments served as the final regular-season action for the Tiger team tennis squad which participated in the district tournament earlier this week on Monday and Tuesday. Full results were unavailable by press time but stay tuned for full coverage of the tennis district championships.
