The Faith Academy Knight basketball team battled the Aggieland Homeschool Association last Monday, Jan. 11, but fell by a 69-42 final score.

Head coach Joe Riley said he is still seeing improvement from the squad despite losing scores.

“Even though Aggieland came out on top, the Knights continue to show improvements and are looking to break out of their slump at home on Thursday, January 21 against Cornerstone Christian Academy,” Riley said.

Junior center Nathan Figueroa led Faith Academy with 25 points, 12 rebounds and four steals to earn player of the week honors. Not far behind was classmate Kaleb Shepherd who recorded 12 points and nine rebounds on the night.

Jonah Taake contributed six rebounds and four points and Luke Potter added two rebounds and one point. Landed Bright chipped in six rebounds and Joshua Bright, Neil Johnston and John Poorman all pulled down a pair of rebounds.

The Knights will host Cornerstone Christian this Thursday at 6 p.m. for senior night with only four home games remaining after that.
