He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Halfmann) Kasmiersky. Daughters Patricia Jordan and husband David of Katy; Dr. Valerie Kasmiersky Montemayor and husband Ted of Frisco; Son, Michael Kasmiersky and wife Sara of Navasota. Grandchildren Gavin Jordan, McKenna Jordan, Lauren Parrott, Jake Parrott; step-grandchildren Kate Montemayor and Max Montemayor. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Annie Socha, Clara Lobpries, Julia Ann Zbranek, Mary Hoffman and brother Frank Kasmiersky, Jr.

Raymond was the youngest of nine children and had very fond memories of growing up in a household of mostly sisters. After graduating from Garwood High School in 1960, he graduated from Wharton Jr College in 1962 and then graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1965 with a degree in Agriculture. Raymond served in the Army from 1965 until 1967 where he was stationed in France.

Upon his return, Raymond began a career at Uncle Ben’s Rice in research and development. He married Margaret Halfmann on May 16, 1970 (55 years married) and they settled in San Felipe, Texas. When he was promoted to rice buyer for Uncle Ben’s, his job took him and his family to Newport, Arkansas where they spent 6 years. The family made many wonderful outdoor memories fishing, camping and hunting arrowheads. Raymond’s job brought him back to Texas where he settled down permanently. He enjoyed his job as a rice buyer and made many friends in the rice farming community.

Raymond retired after 32 years. He enjoyed working in the garden as well as growing and grafting citrus and pecan trees. He especially loved having his grandkids help him in the garden. You could always find him out in his shop working on some project. He loved to share his skills with his son and sonsin- law. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

Raymond was member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Nada KJT.

Pallbearers are Darby Hoffman, Thierry Hoffman, David Jordan, Gavin Jordan, Jake Parrott, and Bryan Popp.

Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at Fairmont Hospice for their kindness and compassionate care. Also, a special note of thanks to Bernice Novosad from Immaculate Conception Church whose visits and ministry were a great comfort to Raymond and family.
