Mildred Marie Ferris Taylor, 90, formerly of Sealy, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Kyle, Texas. Mimi, as she was affectionately called, was born on March 6, 1930, in Katy, Texas and grew up in Katy and Sealy, Texas. She was the oldest daughter of A.W. and Leona Ferris.

In her early years, Mildred worked at Max Wander Insurance in Brookshire, Texas, and served as a Secretary and Communion Steward at the First United Methodist Church in Sealy. She is preceded in death by her husband Tommy, her brother William, and her parents, A.W. and Leona.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Denise E. Taylor, Pflugerville, Texas, son Thomas Dwayne Taylor, Kyle, Texas, sister Dorthy Mae Gerhart, Sealy, niece and husband Rhonda Steubing (Bob), nephew and wife David (Laurie) and grand-nephews Jason, Aaron, and Justin.

Her children would like to send out their deepest thanks and appreciation to both Keri Johnson and Angela Elkins who were a light in their mother’s life. They would like to also thank the staff at Legend Oaks and everyone for kind words, thoughts, and prayers sent their way during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.

A visitation with the family was held on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston at 2 p.m.
