Delton Hegemeyer was born October 19, 1940, in New Ulm, Texas, the son of Reinhardt W. and Wilma Gross Hegemeyer. Delton was united in marriage to Lillie Morgan Hegemeyer on December 19, 1959, at Welcome Lutheran Church and enjoyed 61 years of marriage.

Delton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Delton was always dedicated to family, working as a carpenter to provide. In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in the Salt Grass Trail Ride and was instrumental in a lot of the building what most know to be the Texas Renaissance Festival in Plantersville. Delton always loved to build whatever was needed and loved to use his proverbial green thumb to make everything around the house grow in the toughest of conditions. Later in his years, he would find himself marveling at his Pecan trees from the front porch, especially when they were plentiful of pecans. He enjoyed picking those trees and especially cracking and eating their pecans. His most favorite time was when his grandkids would come barreling through the door shouting, “Grandpa we’re home!” With Lillie at his side, he built a fortune of family carefully constructed with love.

Delton passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 27 days.
