Bobby Allen Hagen, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home Friday, December 24, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Bobby was one of five children born to Gardner and Clara Stamnitz Hagen on January 19, 1940. He went to Piney School in Burleigh, TX through the 8th Grade then attended Bellville High School and graduated in 1957. Bobby played basketball but excelled on the football field. He received a scholarship to Victoria College to continue his education and play football. After the death of his father in 1959, he returned home to support his mother and younger siblings. In 1963, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana for basic training. He was sent to Korea for a year and was assigned as a military police officer. Upon returning to civilian life in 1966, he worked in the oil field for a short time then went to Cameron Iron Works for over 30 years, where he retired. 1966 was a big year for Bobby. He was set up on a blind date with the beautiful Joannah “JoAnn” Catherine Snitkin by good friends Bobby and Geraldine Barrett. After a very short time of dating, Bobby knew JoAnn was the love of his life and they married on November 24, 1966. Not only did Bobby now have a new wife, but he gained a new son, Tim, that he accepted, later adopted and raised as his own.

They lived in Sealy the first few years of their marriage and then moved to Burleigh. They had 3 beautiful children, Timothy Scott, Maura Tyann and Ward Allen.

Bobby and JoAnn were always together. They loved to be with their family. They traveled all over to watch various sports and events not only for their own children, but for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Volleyball, football, dance, cheer, diabetes walks, FFA … you name it, they were there. They also loved to be with their friends, Cami and Ike Wozniak playing games. Dominoes, Sequence and Skip Bo to name a few, they loved to teach their grandchildren to play also. They loved their grandchildren so much and would be with them any chance they had. They hosted many slumber parties and their grandchildren would stay on the week ends, weeks during the summer and they would even convince their children into letting the grandchildren stay on school nights. They fed cows, butchered hogs and made sausage, bailed hay, built and fixed fences, built bird houses, picked vegetables, took long walks through the creek and mule rides on their beautiful property, hunted, fished, built campfires and shot guns.

Bobby was an avid Knights of Columbus member. He was very strong in his Catholic faith and that showed in every aspect of his life. Bobby spent countless hours at the KC Hall in Sealy. Cooking, cleaning and enjoying time with his friends. JoAnn would often joke and say he needed to move a cot in there to sleep because he’s there so much!

Bobby was a very fun-loving person who was always willing to help anyone in need. He lived a full life, worked hard, and had fun with his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandfather. He loved his family with all his heart. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Bobby is survived by his wife JoAnn of fifty-five years, children Tim and wife Therese, Maura and husband David, Ward and wife Becky. Grandchildren Lauren and husband Amit, Erin and husband Andy, Nicholas and wife Kylie, Blake and fiancé Sydney, Morgan, Kate, Josh and Lynnsey. Great-Grandchildren Kale, Charley, Sky, Haden, Danni, Finley, Sawyer, Margo and baby Chase who will be arriving in a couple of weeks.
