Woodrow (Bubba) Gordon Hluchan passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the age of 75.

He was born in Sealy to Woodrow and Evelyn Hluchan March 26, 1949. He spent his childhood in Sealy, attending Sealy High School where he graduated as part of the Class of 1967. After graduating, he attended Sam Houston State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree.

Bubba fell in love with and later married Evelyn Recek June 15, 1974 in La Grange. They then moved to Sealy where they raised two boys together, Keith and Rick. While raising his family, Bubba worked for the Texas Highway Department (TxDOT) as an inspector for 33 years. After retirement from TxDOT, he then worked as an inspector for Dynatest.

In addition to spending time with his family, Bubba lovedtospendtimeoutdoors, where he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and spending time with his cattle. He also enjoyed going on gambling trips and cruises with family and friends.

Bubba is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 49 years, sons Keith and Rick, and daughter-in-law Amber. He also leaves behind his grandsons, Cade Fink and Mason Hluchan, granddaughters, AveryandEmersyn Hluchan, his sister Beverly Ekarius and brother-inlaw Charles, brother-in-law JerryJanda,cousinSuzanne (Robert) Bozeman, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The family extends a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all family and friends for all the kindness, love, and support shown during our time of loss.

A Memorial gathering honoring Bubba will be held for family and friends on June 9, 2024, from 1-4 p.m. at the KC Pavilion in Sealy, TX (1310 US-90, Sealy, TX 77474).
