Dominick was a very soft-spoken and kindhearted gentleman. He was a strong-willed and positive person that never gave up.
Dominick was born on April 29,1938, in Chappell Hill, Texas to Joe and Mary Zientek.
He had a love for nature and the great outdoors. He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School in Chappell Hill. He loved to help his parents around the family farm with whatever needed to be done. He enjoyed helping his daddy with cattle and crops as well as growing a garden with his mom. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping others.
In 1959, he met the love of his life, Lillian Ondruch when dancing at the Frydek Grotto Celebration. They got married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek on September 17,1961. Dominick was drafted six weeks later to the US Army. He served for two years in the Berlin Crisis, including 18 months in Germany. He later received an honorable discharge for serving our country. After the Army, he worked at Texas Metal in Houston as a mill operator. Later, he worked for Western Auto in Sealy and was known as the all-around repairman. Then, he worked for Austin County Machine Shop as a machinist and retired after 38 years.
Dominick and Lillian had two children, Steven and Carol, that he was very proud of and loved to the fullest. He loved spending time barbecuing for his family, fishing with his grandchildren, working cattle, hunting, grafting pecan trees, going to local dances with his lovely wife, and always loved going to church on Sunday. He was recognized as a faithful, humble, and good man by all that knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
