ANNA M. PALMER
Anna M. Palmer was born on Nov 12, 1936, in Sealy and passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 88. Ann, as she was known to most, lived most of her life in the Sealy area but also lived a short while in Galveston, during her twenties. She was a mother to 3 daughters and 1 son.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Joe W. and Mary (Orsak) Zapalac, her four brothers, Joe C. Zapalac, Max Zapalac, Eddie Zapalac and Robert (Bob) Zapalac, as well as two of her children, Cathy Pierce and Robert (Bobby) Lewis.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Colleen Johnson and husband, Richard, of The Woodlands, and Patti Christoferson and husband, Ken, of Fayetteville, as well as 7 grandchildren, Brooke Knoll, Mackenzie Kmiec, Justin Pierce, Geary Pierce, Jr, Katlyn Higgins, Kara Lewis, Kiersten Lewis, as well as several great grandchildren and several dear nieces and nephews.
Ann worked much of her life in the service industry, working at her father’s bar on Front Street in Sealy as a young girl, the Lipton Tea in Galveston and then as a mother, waitress, housekeeper and caregiver. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy for many years.
Per her wishes, a private Celebration of Life with family and close friends will be held in her honor. Donations in her memory can be made to the Dementia Society of America through www.dementiasociety. org
