Austin County Fair Shrimp Boil, July 16
The Austin County Fair is hosting its annual Shrimp Boil to benefit the Fair’s Memorial Scholarship Fund Friday, July 16, at the Fairground and Expo Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. where all-you-can-eat boiled shrimp with sausage, potatoes and corn, and draft beer will be served from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. For additional information, call the Fair Office at 979-865-5995 or go to the website at Austincountyfair.com.

Watermelon Run for the Fallen, August 21
August 21, the Watermelon Run for the Fallen honors those individuals from Texas who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. The run begins at the Hempstead High School football stadium and ends at the gazebo in downtown Hempstead.
