There were 250 participants from schools throughout the county. Grades K thru 5 competed in the “Future Voter” contest while grades 6th thru 12th competed in the “I Voted” contest.
Students in Austin County Schools were able to participate in the contest. The judges were very impressed with the artistry and imagination the students demonstrated in the contest. Stickers will be printed and given to voters throughout the 2024 Election Season.
The contest was open to all Austin County students K-12, enrolled in a public, private, or home school setting, and the winning design will be distributed to all voters at early voting and on Election Day during the 2024 elections.
Once all designs were submitted, a panel distinguished judges selected the winning design. Judging will be based upon theme, uniqueness of the design, and artistry. These individuals will be invited to an awards ceremony during Commissioners Court on Sept. 25, where the winners will be announced to the public. Participants must agree to the contest’s official rules and submit their design by completing an “I Voted” or “Future Voter” sticker design entry form and a parental consent form.
