A Houston man is in jail in Austin County awaiting trial on a charge of murder for the death of a 36-year old Sealy man.

George Aguinaga was found dead at his home in the 500 block of Frydek Road on Nov. 15. An autopsy conducted by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Aguinaga died of a gunshot wound.

An investigation conducted by the Sealy Police Department and the Texas Rangers identified Dominique Riston, 27, of Houston as a suspect. A felony murder warrant was issued for his arrest and forwarded to the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force for service. On Dec. 4, Riston was arrested by members of the task force and transported to the Fort Bend County Jail.

Riston has been transferred from the Fort Bend County Jail and is currently awaiting trial in the Austin County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

The last murder in Sealy occurred in 2013, according to Police Chief Jay Reeves.
