Ed Marcinkiewicz, a former track and field coach at Bellville and Brazos High School and Texas A&M, lost his battle with cancer Friday at the age of 59.

Most recently, Marcinkiewicz was part of the broadcast team for BellvilleSports.com where Brahma football and Brahmanette volleyball games are hosted. Before then, he coached in Bellville and served as the Texas A&M women’s head track and field coach from 1998-2004.

Marcinkiewicz is honored in the Cross Country Coaches Association of Texas Hall of Fame (inducted in 2016) and the Bellville ISD hall of fame (inducted May 8, 2017).

Sealy’s head cross country coach Anthony Branch said he played a role in helping the Tiger runners as well.

“He’s had a tremendous impact on all of us and I will miss being able to call Ed after a XC or track meet to talk about how it went or just to ask for advice,” Branch said Sunday.
