Eschenburg completes Eagle Scout project
Sealy High School senior Cameron Eschenburg recently completed his Eagle Scout project at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek with significant help from his Scout Troop 548.
Eschenburg received numerous donations from individuals and organizations from Frydek and Sealy. A Vatican and American flag were placed on two newly installed flag poles. A rock wall border was built around the flag poles and the flags, as well as the Grotto memorial, are illuminated at night.
Additional beautification projects, including trimming the trees and the hedges around the Grotto, as well as deep cleaning the Grotto stone itself, were also part of his Eagle Scout project. The memorial stone honors the 65 members of the church who went overseas to serve in World War II and all returned home safely.
