On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, Antonio Galvan, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 85 in Sealy, Texas.

Antonio (Tony) Galvan was born on April 26, 1936, in Port Isabell, Texas, to Experanza Garza Galvan and Antonio R. Galvan. He entered the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country until 1961. On March 17, 1962, he married the love of his life, Ida Marchan Galvan in Port Isabel, Texas, and raised two sons, Ronnie and Jimmy and one daughter, Judi.

Tony was not a man of many words but always led by his actions; and those actions spoke volumes to his children as he helped mold them into the people they grew up to be. His love for his wife, Ida, was unwavering and unconditional. If Ida was the glue of the Galvan family, Tony was the rock. Their children witnessed the love they shared for each other every day and can now take solace in knowing they are together again in Heaven.

Tony served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and was very proud to have two of his grandsons, Michael Gonzales and Paul Gonzales, follow in his footsteps of military service. He worked over 40 years at the Exxon Olefins plant in Baytown, Texas where he developed many friendships that he treasured throughout his life. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone, always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Tony spent the last year of life in Sealy, Texas with his daughter, Judi, and her husband, Chad, on their ranch where he enjoyed country living and his favorite pastime, playing pool. He passed away quietly and peacefully in his sleep with his constant companion, his dog Sandy, laying by his side.

He is survived by his Children: Ronnie Gonzales and wife Sheila Gonzales, Jimmy Galvan and wife Shonda Galvan, daughter Judi Galvan-Burttschell and husband Chad Hugo.

Grandchildren: Brittany Carter and husband Brett, Boo Burttschell, Dr. Paul Gonzales and wife Megan, Dr. Michael Gonzales and wife Amber, Victor Gonzales, and Robert Gonzales, Holly Posey and husband Kyle, Hally Galvan, Dante Galvan, Rayne Wallace, and Morgan Hugo-Wintjen and husband Zach.

Great-Grandchildren: Case and Crue Carter, Paul, Mark and Luke Gonzales, Leyton and Emerson Gonzales, Liam Posey and Benny Wintjen.

He is preceded in death by his parents Experanza Garza Galvan and Antonio R. Galvan, wife Ida Marchan Galvan, son-in-law Michael Joe Burttschell, and siblings Arturo Galvan, Ignacio Galvan, and Maria Josefina Galvan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a taxdeductible donation to Tony’s favorite charity, Burttschell Rescue Ranch, where he spent the last year of his life.
