WHARTON COUNTY — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has secured a capital murder verdict against Brandon James, who was found guilty of shooting and killing Shane Singleton during a 2021 robbery in El Campo.

In what is being described as a “hailpack,” portions of Austin County suffered some severe weather last Friday that caused car, tree and structure damage in the area.
