Sealybration begins July 8

As expected, the annual Sealybration festival will take place on Sealy Business and Professional Women Park grounds (B&PW) from July 8 to July 10. The event will feature live performances from Cody Johnson, Bag of Donuts, Michael Salgado, Step Rideau, Earl Thomas Conley and others, as well as having plenty of food, entertainment, and beverages for those in attendance to enjoy.

County moves forward with EMS stations

Within a month groundbreaking should begin taking place for the construction of Austin County’s three new Emergency Medical Services stations in Bellville, Industry, and Wallis. Representatives from Christensen Building Group, LLC, the company to whom the construction bid was awarded, spoke to the Austin County Commissioners Court at the beginning of the June 27 meeting to go over details and answer any questions regarding the project.

Lions Sealy Dance Club, July 2 The Lions Sealy Dance Club is holding a dance on Saturday, July 2, at the Sealy American Legion Hall with Blue Denim providing the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Guests are always welcome.

Blinn Livestock Judging Camp

One hundred and twenty campers from six different states attended Blinn College for the 2022 Experienced Blinn Livestock Judging Camp. This was an incredible group of young people that thoroughly impressed the crew over at Blinn, and they were thrilled to host them. Blinn congratulates the winners in the contests and is looking forward to the novice camp!

President’s Honor Roll announced

The students listed on the President’s Honor Roll at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, are undergraduates who have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average in all work attempted while enrolled in not less than 12 semester hours. The university would like to recognize the following students for earning the honor for the Spring 2022 semester: from Bellville, Madison Pursley; from Industry, Aunnika Wittner; from Sealy, Jaymi Deans, Matthew Lord, Reece Novicke, and Hannah Waltrip; and from Wallis, Clay Coffman and Ryanne Duffy.
