Faith Academy senior Preston Browning was brilliant on the mound last Thursday and finished a no-hitter to help the Knights down Brazosport Christian 14-0.

The right-handed pitcher went four innings, struck out four batters and didn’t allow a hit or run in his pitching debut. Browning’s one walk allowed was the only thing that kept him from a perfect game.

Landon Snyder led Faith Academy offensively with a 3-for-4 day at the plate with seven RBIs from a firstinning grand slam, a third-inning single and a fourth-inning double. The Knights registered five runs in the fourth where Cash Eckermann and Travis Woodley drew walks before a groundout from Dylan Callihan.

11 hits not enough to top Northland Christian

Although Faith Academy collected 11 hits in their Friday contest with the Northland Christian Cougars, it was still not enough to earn the win.

Caden Owens toed the rubber for the Knights and went one inning where he allowed two runs on no hits with one strikeout. Eckermann, Austin Browning and Noah Figueroa each contributed in relief for Faith Academy.

Offensively, Eckermann, Preston Browning and Caden Swierkowski all managed multiple hits for the Knights. Browning and Eckermann each collected three hits to lead the way.
