KIM RENEE SCHMIDT 1967- 2024

Kim Renee Schmidt, 57, of Sealy, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024, at her home.

She was born March 3, 1967, in Bellville, the daughter of Stanley and Joyce Macat Schmidt. Kim grew up and attended school in Bellville. She was employed as a machinist for Quality Machine in Sealy. Kim took great pride in being a machinist.

Kim enjoyed gardening, tending to her yard, listening to music, watching movies, reading, and animals, especially cats. She loved spending time with friends and family. Kim was well-known for giving the best hugs.

She is survived by her father: Stanley Schmidt of Lampasas; children: Courtney Lewis of The Woodlands, Ginger Lichtental and her husband, Tom, of Houston, Gary Karl Luetge and his wife, Ashley, of Katy and Gabrielle Mock and her husband, Jason, of Pelham, Alabama, and Kriss Otey of Sealy; stepson: Robert Otey and his wife, Veronica, and family, of Oklahoma City, OK; step-daughter: Brittany Johnson and her husband, Dre, and family, of Anahuac; grandchildren: Ashton Harrell, Athyn Garza, Aubrey Garza, Axel Garza, Brinlee Luetge, Tynslee Luetge, and Branson Luetge; sister: Tracy Zapalac and family, of El Paso; brothers: Billy Pfeffer and his wife, Lori, and family, of Wisconsin, Chris Schmidt and his wife, Bridgett, and family, of Waller, and Jason Schmidt and family, of Waller; and numerous other family members and dear friends.

Kim was preceded in death by her mother: Joyce Macat Zapalac; and her granddaughter: Kynlee Luetge.

Visitation was held from 10–11 a.m., Friday, April 19, at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.

Pallbearers were Ashton Harrell, Athyn Garza, Jason Mock, Jason Schmidt, Joe Mike Young, and Jorge Reyes.

Honorary pallbearers were Mark Sowa, Steve Sowa, Bryan Terrell, Javier Merino, Pedro Rodriquez, Rick Lilja, Wesley Kruzel, Bill Bragg, Paul Anslinger, and Morgan Meader.

A funeral service followed at 11 a.m., at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Groseclose officiating.

Interment was held in the National Cemetery in Nelsonville.
