Waldine Wilhelmina (Rinn) Rudloff, 93, of Industry, TX, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

Waldine was born in the Lone Star Community near Industry, Texas, Nov. 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Laura (Glaeser) and Robert F. Rinn. The family later moved to the Star Hill Community. She attended Industry School through the 9th grade and graduated from Belleville High School in 1946. She then attended a business school in Houston. As a young girl, she joined and was confirmed in Industry Methodist Church.

She married Oliver Henry Rudloff Oct. 5, 1947, in Industry Methodist Church in the original sanctuary. Waldine and Oliver lived in Houston (Galena Park and Pecan Park neighborhoods). Oliver had attended school on the GI Bill and then went to work for Sheffield Steel in accounting. Waldine worked for Woolworth’s Department Store (downtown on Main St.) as salesperson and for an insurance company as clerk.

Their first son, Randy, was born in Houston in March 1955. In July of 1955, Oliver transferred to Armco Steel’s corporate offices in Independence, MO, and moved the growing family there. Mike was born in Independence in March 1958. The family returned to Texas — first to Gainesville in 1962 where they owned and operated a Firestone Tire Dealership, and then to Waco in 1964 where Waldine worked for Word Records, Inc. The family settled in Woodway, a suburb of Waco, in 1965 and then moved to Robinson in 1979.

Eventually the family moved back to Industry in 1982. Waldine worked for Columbus Eye Clinic from 1983 until retiring in 2015.

Waldine loved gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, and quilting. Her favorite thing was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and develop. She took her civic duty seriously and was a member of Industry United Methodist Church, Industry Historical Society, Industry Methodist Women’s Group, Texas Extension Education Association of Austin County — West End Club, and American Legion Auxiliary – Post 602, Shelby.
