Steve (Cotton) Gajewski was born on August 27, 1939, to the late Frank and Louise Gajewski. After a brave and courageous battle with cancer, he passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the age of 83 surrounded by his loving family.

Steve was baptized at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School and Sealy High School and graduated in 1958. On April 4, 1964, Steve married the love of his life, Nancy Sebesta. Steve and Nancy have two children: Diane Klepser and Dwayne Gajewski.

Steve was a machinist for many years and also farmed in the evenings and on weekends. It soon became evident that farming was his passion, and he started farming full time with his brother, Victor. Even after he began chemotherapy two years ago, he would go to his appointment in the morning and return to working in the field in the afternoon. His oncologist mentioned that he is the strongest patient he has seen. He continued to do what he loved, farming, until recently.

Steve was very proud of his family from his children to his great-grandchildren. He especially loved attending all their school activities and sporting events. He always encouraged

them to do their very best in anything they set out to do. He enjoyed being a farmer, working in his garden, and tending to his cattle. He also loved to play dominos and cards with his family and friends.

Steve is survived by his wife Nancy; their daughter Diane Klepser and their son Dwayne Gajewski (wife Tamara); and their grandchildren Charles Ondruch (wife Cara), Ryan Klepser, Amber Klepser, and Colton Gajewski; great- grandchildren Ledger and Easton Ondruch; brother Victor Gajewski (wife Betty) and sister, Frances Stastny.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Louise Gajewski, brothers Joe, Eugene, and Clem Gajewski and sister, Clara Stastny.

Steve’s family would like to thank all of you for your love, support, thoughts, and prayers.
