Shirley Hoek Svinky, 95, passed away November 28, 2022, at the Veranda House in Sealy, Texas.

Shirley was born on August 21, 1927 in Sealy, Texas to Charlie and Hattie Hoek.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of Sealy. She married Eddie C Svinky on December 31, 1944. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church. Shirley was a cashier for Meloneck’s grocery store, she worked for Joe Franks as a seamstress, and also worked in the cafeteria for Sealy ISD as a cook.

Shirley loved the outdoors. She had a very green thumb. You could always find her outside working in her yard and garden. Shirley also enjoyed spending her time playing dominoes and socializing at the church.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Hattie Hoek, husband Eddie C Svinky, sister Nettie Hein, children Edward Charles Svinky, Carolyn White, Ricky Svinky, and grandson Clay Roulston.

Shirley is survived by her son Eddie A Svinky (wife, Charlotte), daughter Shirley R. LeJeune (husband, Gerald), grandchildren Michael Svinky (wife, Shawna), Matthew Svinky (wife, Rylee), Kimberly Dubose (husband, Mark), Brittany Eaton (husband, Billy), Brandon White (wife, Erica) and great grandchildren Brady Svinky, Hattie Svinky, Kylee Svinky, Dean Dubose, Madeline Dubose, Caroline Eaton, Paisley Eaton, Charlie White, Faye White, Henrie White.

Pallbearers: Michael Svinky, Matthew Svinky, Brandon White, Brady Svinky, Ronnie Holub, and Scott Haverland.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, Sealy, Texas.
