Rosemary was born Dec. 30, 1933, in New Bremen, to Robert and Louise Schmalriede Gross. She passed away Nov. 18, 2023, in Bellville. Rosemary worked for many years as a homemaker, raising her 4 children and helping her husband on their egg farm in Millheim.

She and her husband Norbert were active members of the Millheim Harmonie Hall for approximately 54 years as Norbert acted as the treasurer for the Hall. Rosemary and Norbert volunteered their time and effort for many years maintaining the Millheim Harmonie Hall, cooking, and cleaning before and after parties and dances and mowing and cleaning the grounds. Rosemary also was the caretaker for the Millheim Cemetery for several years mowing, weed eating and keeping the cemetery clean. When all her children were grown and gone, Rosemary went to work at Wal-Mart in Sealy where she oversaw the men’s department. She worked there for 20 years and retired to once again be a homemaker.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Norbert Bolten; son: Bruce Bolten; two brothers: Horace Gross, and Wallace Gross.

She is survived by two sons: Mark Bolten (Christy) of Millheim, Robert Bolten (Lisa) of Millheim, daughter Blanche Bryan (Randall) of Anacoco, Louisiana; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers were Matthew Bolten, Michael Bolten, Mark Bolten, Jr., Cory Castro, Clayton Abke, and Patrick Glaves.

Honorary Pallbearers were Will Shupak, and the Colonial Belle Nursing and Rehab nursing staff.

Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, at Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m., Nov. 22, 2023, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jay Grave officiating.

A burial followed in the Millheim Cemetery.
