Robert Worth (Bobby) Filip, 88 of Wallis passed October 13, 2022. He was born on May 6, 1934, in Shiner, Texas to the parents of Emil & Agnes (Mikes) Filip. His family moved to Wallis to the little share choppers village on the bluff of the Charles Kaechele Farm. He was raised by a single father after his mother passed away when he was only 4 years old.

Bobby married Irene Schroeder on July 20, 1963, in Bellville & they were blessed with 4 children: Donna Kay, Brenda Leigh, Billy Joe & Dana Lynn. He was baptized and confirmed as an adult at St. John Luthern Church in Wallis.

Bobby always had a love for horses, and he went to work for the Kaechele Ranch at the age of 14 in 1948 under the supervision of Mr. Roy Kaechele, a calm & patient man who taught him all he needed to know about a doit- yourself ranch. Written in stone by Mr. Roy on the prairie “Bobbie First Loop Filip” as he could rope anything with the first throw. Bobby’s career spanned for 60 years. He had to give up horseback riding after a horseback injury when he was 81 years old. Bobby was a flag man for the Austin County Square Dance Saddle Club on horseback, Trail Rides to the Austin County Fair and San Antonio Fat Stock Show. He was a pickup man for the Valley Lodge Rodeo. He also worked the stables in Valley Lodge by taking care of the horses and getting them saddled and ready for their owners before their rides. He enjoyed fishing everywhere when he was still able to do so and coffee with his early bird friends at the donut shop. Bobby loved his family dearly and all the family gatherings. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Emil & Agnes Filip; grandparents, John & Mary (Havel) Mikes and Jacob & Josephine (Foferein) Filip; precious daughters, Donna Kay Jaloway and Dana Lynn Brzozowski; sisters, Emily Butler & Vic, Vlasta Toellner & Erwin; brothers, Johnnie & Gladys Filip and Victor & Beatrice Filip; sisterin- law, Elzadie Filip and parents in law, Erwin & Martha Schroeder.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Irene; daughter, Brenda (Glover) & Travis Kosik; son, Billy & Kerrie Filip; son in laws, Patrick Jaloway and Johnny Brzozowski; grandchildren, Jeremy & Amanda Jaloway, Lindsey (Jaloway) & Gregory Hluchan, Broc & Rachael Glover, Tyler Jaloway, Logan Filip, Grant Brzozowski, Carson Brzozowski, Bradley & Taegin Cudd and Tanner Cudd; brother, Alfred Filip; great grandchildren, Aleeya & Kye Jaloway and Granger & Gideon Hluchan, Oakleigh & Bronx Cudd; extended family, The Kaechele Family.
