1942- 2023

Melvin Schroeder was born on Nov. 11, 1942 at home in Burleigh, Texas to Erwin Schroeder and Martha Teichmann. Melvin passed away on March 18, 2023 at the age of 80 in Sealy, Texas surrounded by his loved ones and wife of 57 years Cathy Schroeder.

Melvin worked at several places in his life including working for Abel Brothers, 7-Up Bottling Co. and Cameron Iron Works. After retirement, he loved spending his time taking care of his birds, planting fruit trees and barbequing for the family gatherings, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Cathy Schroeder, son Wayne Schroeder and wife Denise, daughter Rhonda Woodard and husband Anthony Wilcox, sister Irene Filip, grandchildren Kenedi Hardy and husband Ethan, Lily, Max, Kimberly Schroeder, Jessica Woodard and husband Kory Hills, Jamie Woodard and Jacob Woodard. Great grandchildren Madison Woodard, Kolten, Karter and Kamdon Hills.

He is preceded in death by his parents Erwin and Martha Schroeder, sister Ruby Schmitt and sister Bernice Cooley.
