LAWRENCE ROLAND JATZLAU 1943- 2023

Lawrence Roland Jatzlau, age 79, of Sealy, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 21, 2023 at his home with his wife by his side.

Lawrence was born at home near Lexington on Nov. 14, 1943. He went to school until the 5th grade when he was pulled out to work in the family drywall business. He was a self— employed drywall hanger. He traveled many miles to sheetrock, tape, and float houses. He was very fast and very good at his job. In his spare time, he loved growing vegetable gardens. He would work in that garden for hours on end. He loved sharing his veggies with his family and friends. He would spend hours mowing grass and making his yard something to be proud of. Lawrence loved making homemade grape jelly, canning pickles and homemade BBQ sauce. Speaking of BBQ, he made the best BBQ and his family loved it. While he would BBQ, Cajun music was playing, and a cold beer was in his hand. You never left his house with an empty stomach or an empty hand.

Lawrence loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He would spoil them with snow cones and candy all the time. He would never tell them no. He will be missed dearly.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Susie Jatzlau, infant brothers Glen Elwood and Edward Glen Jatzlau and a brother Kenneth Ray Jatzlau.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Jatzlau, daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and David Cash of Sealy, son and daughter- in-law Raymond and Becky Jatzlau of Humble, brothers Edwin Jatzlau and wife Jimmie Gail of Magnolia, Maurice Jatzlau and wife Betty of Cypress, Sister Sandy Sneck and husband Tim of Conroe, his grandchildren Kimberly Rider and husband Tim of Angleton, Jennifer Ralston and husband Cole of Dickinson, Krystal Cash, Kristen Cash, Taylor Cash and Deanna Cash of Sealy, his great-grandchildren Addison Rider, Sydney Rider, Hudson Ralston and Owen Ralston, nieces Debbie, Kerrie, Tammy and nephews Steven, Edwin Jr. and Richard.

Visitation is from 10 to 12 on April 25, 2023, at Knesek Funeral Chapel 768 Fourth St. Sealy, Tx. The service will be immediately following at 12 noon at the same place. Interment will follow at the Sealy Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Carl Gurecky, David Knight, David Cash, Tim Rider, Cole Ralston and Ben Jr. Pomikal.
