Body

James Douglas Teague of Sealy, Texas, lost his three-year battle with cancer on July 18, 2022. He was 65 years old.

James was born on April 22, 1957, in Sealy, Texas, to Charles and Leona Teague. He was a graduate of Columbus High School in 1975 where he played football and was very active in track and field. After high school, James went on to work in the oil field for many years before returning to Sealy to raise his family. He worked for Stewart & Stevenson/BAE before retiring with disability.

James enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. His favorite pastimes included hunting with his brothers and son in Fredericksburg, Texas, and taking the grandkids to Jellystone Park. James could often be found at the ballpark coaching and cheering on his son and other young aspiring athletes. Many that know him would say he never met a stranger and was more than willing to tell you a few jokes or some stories if you had a minute or two.

He is survived by his son James Teague Jr. and his wife Karla Rodriguez, daughter Jessica Trilicek and her husband Nathan, son Jeremy Teague and his wife Amanda, and son Joseph Teague; grandkids Skyler, Jayden, Anazell, Hilario, and Tristan; his sisters Leona Parks, Glenda Capetillo, and Brenda Mancia and her husband Oscar; his brother Thomas Teague and his wife Patsy; sister in law Deborah Teague; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Billy Teague and his sister Charlene Teague Jones.

The family asks that you join them in celebrating the life of James on Sunday, August 14, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Creekmoore’s Sports Bar, located at 3797 Highway 36 S, Sealy, Texas, 77474.
