The Austin County Sheriff's Office released more information on the homicide reported Tuesday in Bellville. Kathy Maresh was arrested for murder and is being held in the Austin County Jail on a $500,000 bond, ACSO announced March 25.

Below is the press release from Austin County Sheriff's Office.

"March 22, 2022, at approximately 1530 hours, Austin County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the area of Sycamore Crossing and Highway 159 W regarding a welfare concern. Deputies arrived and located a female who was wandering around the area on foot.

"The female was identified as Kathy Elaine MARESH (56) of Bellville, Texas. Information provided by MARESH led deputies to a residence located at 1508 S. Tesch, Bellville, Texas, where deputies discovered her deceased husband Jimmy Dale MARESH (62). On March 23rd, the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy and determined Jimmy MARESH was killed by 2 gun shots to the upper torso. Currently, Kathy MARESH has been arrested for murder and is being held in the Austin County jail on a $500,000 bond."
