The Bellville Hospital Foundation (BHF), a duly recognized 501(c) (3) tax-exempt entity formed in 1959, continues to contribute to the support of the Bellville Medical Center (BMC) and its employees with scholarship opportunities.

A recent recipient, Tyla Bryant, is working towards a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Texas State University’s College of Education in San Marcos.

Bryant was born and raised in Bellville. While attending Bellville High School, her successes included membership in the National Junior Honor Society and Sigma Kappa Delta Collegiate Honor Society while in her spare time enjoying volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. During her undergraduate days at Prairie View A&M University, she majored in Kinesiology, concentrating in Physical Therapy, and was on the Dean’s List four (4) years in a row. While on the Women’s Track and Field team, she was named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s All-Academic Honor Roll.

For the next three years, she will be tending to her graduate work at TSU’s Round Rock campus starting this summer. The Hospital Foundation Board is proud to award her a scholarship of $10,500 to assist with her educational expenses to help her achieve her personal and professional goals. We trust this academic scholarship program is supported within the Austin County community with specific donations committed for our scholarship funding.

The Foundation asks individuals interested in enhancing the skills of the only hospital in Austin County to consider donating today to the BHF – Scholarship Funds, PO Box 55, Bellville, TX 77418-0055.
