Residents 55 and older taking part in April’s “CarFit” program got a comprehensive lesson on how well they work together with their vehicles.

The Extension Education Association of Austin County, in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, hosted the educational program. Developed by AAA, AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association, the session also provided information and materials on community-specific resources that enhance driving safety and increase mobility.

Participants answered questions by a trained CarFit technician to fit their needs, then made vehicle adjustments by following a 12-point checklist.
