Kolkhorst will be presenting a proclamation during Industry’s annual Celebrate America event. Industry’s founding pre-dates Texas’ War of Independence.

“We’re extremely honored to have Senator Kolkhorst attend our big birthday bash,” said Mable Meyer, Mayor of Industry. “We’re combining a significant birth date in Industry’s history with America’s Fourth of July Celebration.”

Events on Saturday, July 3 will begin at noon with a craft show on the lawn in front of City Hall. At 1 p.m., a dominoes and 42 tournament will commence inside City Hall. At 2 p.m., a bingo game will be held under the pavilion in front of City Hall.

“While all of this is happening, we’re having a fun water event for kids,” Meyer said. “Then at 5 p.m., we’ll host our annual Kids’ Patriotic Parade around the park.”

Kids will wear their patriotic best and decorate their bikes, trikes, and wagons for their special parade.

“After the parade we’ve got ice cream treats and watermelons for everyone,” Meyer added.

Local karaoke singer and event emcee Rob Abbott will host singers young and old to entertain the crowd.

At 7 p.m., Family Game Time is scheduled with horseshoes, corn hole, sack races, and egg races all available for fun.

“By 8 p.m., the craft show will be ending because we have to prep the area for the fireworks show at dusk,” Meyer explained. “While the vendors are clearing out, we’ll be hosting a Raffle Drawing for prizes donated by the vendors.”
