The Brazos Cougars took care of business on their first road contest of the 2023 season with a 46-12 win over Louise last Friday night. “We had some young guys playing and they stepped up,” said Brazos Head Football Coach Ryan Roecker.
The Brazos Cougars cross country team competed in the Region III Preview Cross Country Meet on Saturday in Huntsville. In the 1A-4A Varsity Girls race, Stephaniah Phillips placed 73rd, Lily Bertrand finished 84th , and Hannah Gonzalez was 129th.
When Brazos prepared for its area playoff matchup with Orangefield, Brazos Head Baseball Coach Christopher Bright knew his Cougars were in for a battle of major proportions. And even though the Cougars were swept in the area round, Bright said he still believes this team left a legacy that will only make the program stronger in years to come.
As the Brazos Cougars prepared for this baseball season, Head Coach Chris Bright knew he was going to have to rely on some youth to fill in gaps on the team. He believed his team had the right mix of youth and experience on the squad to challenge for a district playoff spot.
The girls track team competed in the District 23 & 24 3A Area Track Meet on Wednesday, April 19 at Coldspring- Oakhurst High School. The varsity girls’ team finished in 10th place with 26 points.
