The Bluebonnet Master Gardeners, in conjunction with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, are pleased to announce their 7th year of holding Kids’ Kamp in Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington counties.

Radio Club meeting March 27 The W5SFA Radio Club will meet Wednesday, March 27 in Bellville at Cielito Lindo’s private meeting room. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. and the meeting starts at 7 p.m. The Club is an association of amateur radio operators in Austin and surrounding counties.

The Alzheimer’s Association 2024 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report reveals that both dementia caregivers and health care workers report difficulties in navigating dementia care within the U.S. health care system. The report provides an in-depth look at the latest national and state-level statistics on Alzheimer’s disease prevalence, mortality, caregiving, dementia care workforce and costs of care. The new report estimates that 6.9 million people age 65 and older in the U.S. are living with Alzheimer’s dementia, including 459,300 in Texas.

WHARTON COUNTY — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has secured a capital murder verdict against Brandon James, who was found guilty of shooting and killing Shane Singleton during a 2021 robbery in El Campo.
