Sealy’s girls had a tougher- than-expected time against their not-so-distant rivals Bellville, edging out the Brahmas 2-1 in a home thriller Feb. 23.

My husband, Peter, and I were surprised that two plates were missing. We stay in our little apartment in Mexico and, while we’re gone, all our dishes and glasses remain in the cupboards.

The Friends of Stephen F. Austin State Park will meet Feb. 29 at 5:30 p.m. at the Nature Center. Volunteers help Park Rangers sustain the building, trails and grounds of the park.

This Saturday morning, an old man here in New Mexico will act just a bit silly again as he has these past 50-odd years on the first Saturday in March. I admit to being the silly old man in this case.

Sealy are starting to get used to winning ways again after securing their third win in a row Feb. 23 in a tightly contested 1-0 win against Bellville at home.

Sealy’s Kyle Willingham has signed a college letter of intent to play football at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Willingham was a stalwart on the offensive line for the Sealy Tigers the past few years and leaves big shoes to fill on the offensive line. 

Storybook Rescues, Inc., a not-for-profit animal rescue in Cat Spring, is looking for cat lovers. For two years now, since PetSmart opened a new store in Brenham on Highway 290, Storybook Rescues has been placing kittens and adult cats there for adoption.
