The star on the Texas flag somehow seems to shine a little brighter every year as more and more people move to Texas to find a thriving economy and a better quality of life. While that growth is wonderful to see, it does bring challenges to our transportation system.

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Services of Austin and Colorado counties are partnering with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to host a Feathers, Furs, and Farming series on Friday, Sept. 29.

It’s that time of year in Texas for county fairs, rodeos, parades, and ag competitions, and the Austin County Fair has one contest that many will not find at any other county fair in Texas. And no matter where one lives in Texas, all can participate in it.

The Brazos Cougars cross country team competed in the Brazos High School Invitational Cross-Country Meet on Saturday. The varsity girls team finished fourth in the varsity girls race with 78 points.
