Cougarettes win 2nd

The Brazos Cougarette volleyball squad competed in the Schulenburg Tournament last weekend and came away with a 7-1 record and second-place finish. Senior Meagan Demny and junior Haiven Harris-Alvarado were named to the all-tournament team for their efforts. Brazos sports camps begin

Brazos High School is hosting football and volleyball camps for students entering second through ninth grade next week, July 26-29. Interested student-athletes can contact head football coach/athletic director Ryan Roecker (Rroecker@brazosisd.net or 979-478-6025) or show up on the day of the camp to participate.

Brazos ISD provides equipment to parks

The Brazos ISD athletic department recently placed buckets of sports equipment at popular locations around town to promote physical activity for the rest of the summer. Head Football Coach/Athletic Director Ryan Roecker said it was the staff’s idea to help promote engagement with the younger members of the program and to keep them involved during the dog days of summer.

Brazos student-athletes finish up a strength and conditioning workout with a stretch on the track at Cougar Stadium in Wallis Monday, June 28. Brazos High School hosts strength and conditioning workouts in the mornings (8-10 a.m.) and evenings (5:30-7:30 p.m.) at the high school. COLE McNANNA
