CONTRIBUTED REPORT The Blinn College District recently recognized its Surgical Technology Program Class of 2022 with a pinning ceremony commemorating their ability to serve as valuable surgical team members and dedicated patient advocates. Graduates received their pins after successfully completing a rigorous two-year program that includes lecture and laboratory classes as well as clinical observation and operating room experience.

CONTRIBUTED REPORT Earlier this year, Katy, Texas residents, Joshua and Natalie DeJong, purchased the historic Coca-Cola building in downtown Wallis at 6503 Commerce. The space is being renovated to accommodate weddings, intimate concerts, elegant celebrations, and special events.

The Blinn College women’s soccer team started its season and the Alexandria Jackson era with an emphatic victory Saturday. Blinn rolled to a 10-0 non-conference win over Crush FC at Hohlt Park’s Rankin Field, handing Jackson her first victory as head coach of the Buccaneers in their 2022 season opener.

CONTRIBUTED REPORT Blinn College football started its 2022 campaign with a bang Friday night, powering past Louisiana Community Christian 55-0 at Cub Stadium in Brenham, Texas. The Buccaneers put the game away in the first half, racing out to a 34-point lead before using a variety of reserves to finish off its first win of the season.

Isometimes envy people who have a family home to return to, a place where they grew up, where their parents or even their grandparents lived. The closest thing I have is the farmhouse where my mother grew up.
