The Business Yard of the Month was chosen as the Sealy Historical Society at 211 East Main Street. The Home Yard of the Month was chosen as the Chovels at 813 N. Fowlkes Street. Sunday, Jan. 23, the Bellville Police Department released photos and announced a breakin at Brookshire Brothers where three suspects entered the building but were unable to retrieve anything before fleeing the scene.
Senator Kolkhorst earns highest honor

The Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) has recognized State Senator Lois W. Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) for being a strong champion for agriculture in the Texas Legislature with the S.M. True Agricultural Champion Award.
FAITH ACADEMY SECOND QUARTER HONOR ROLL

Monday, Jan. 10, all Faith Academy students and staff came together during Elementary Chapel, followed by JH and HS Chapel to recognize the academic achievements met by the students during the second quarter grading period. There were many parents who attended as well.
BHF Year in Review

The Bellville Hospital Foundation, an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit, faced many of the same life’s challenges that every other nonprofit faced. We had our successes, and we experienced one rained-out significant event.

The Sealy News is nearing its 135th anniversary in March, well over a century chronicling the community it has served. I believe that every individual who has allowed a portion of their lives to unfold in Sealy has made significant contributions to the city’s history.
Youth hunting opportunities

Last month, I had the pleasure of speaking to several youth groups through 4H, FFA and Hunter Education classes. During these meetings, young people were enthusiastic to learn more about hunting.
