BUDA – Give the Lady Tigers a challenge, and they will address it. For the first time in their playoff journey, Sealy was pushed to a third and deciding game in a playoff series and Sealy answered that challenge but turning back Fredericksburg last Friday in Buda to claim the regional quarterfinals championship and head into a regional semifinal’s matchup with the defending Class 4A softball champions Calallen this week in Cuero.

When many softball “experts” saw the matchup between a state-ranked Cuero team and Sealy in the area round of the playoffs, most had penciled in the Lady Gobblers moving on in the Class 4A playoffs. Someone forgot to tell Sealy about those plans.

It might not have turned out with the best of results, but Sealy’s foursome girls that traveled to the state meet still made the school and this community proud with their efforts in Austin. For the state meet, Sealy returned with respectful positions in all the events that the four entrants participated in.

Ayoung softball team took a giant step in its growth process last week as the Sealy Lady Tigers swept Brazosport in two straight games to clinch the bi-district title for the program. The team that experienced a lot of growing pains last year is now starting to see the fruit of their labor as the team is making strides on the field to become a softball program that will be contended with for the foreseeable future.

Faith Academy baseball season has ended. On Saturday April 20, Faith Academy traveled to Houston to take on Northland Christian (5A TAPPS).

Faith Academy had their Regional Track Meet in Lockhart, at Lions Stadium, on Saturday, April 20. Faith Academy competed in TAIAO which is a Private and Homeschool Christian Athletic Organization.
