For Sealy Head Boys Soccer Coach Joshua Kirton, the Tigers are looking ready for the start of District 20-4A opener Feb. 7 against Harmony School of Discovery at home.

Sophomore Noah Washington scored a team-high 21 points and senior Avonte Nunn added 15 points but it was enough to lift the Tigers to their first district win of the season. Sealy dropped a 76-65 decision to El Campo last Friday night at home.

The Sealy Lady Tigers moved to 6-2 in District 25-4A to remain in third place with last Friday’s 56-39 win over El Campo. The win solidified the Lady Tigers hold on third place in district. The loss dropped El Campo to fourth place in district with a 3-4 mark.

The Blinn College men’s basketball team shrugged off a slow offensive start before finding its groove en route to a 96-87 Region XIV victory over Lamar State College- Port Arthur on Saturday. The home victory at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas, pushed the Buccaneers to 14-6 overall and 8-2 in the Region XIV South Zone.

Van Vleck edged the Lady Cougaretttes 36-33 last Friday on the road to take control of fourth place in District 24-3A. Van Vleck is sitting at 3-4 in district action while Brazos is sporting a 3-5 record in district play with four games left on the schedule.
