The Sealy Lady Tiger volleyball team earned multiple all-district recognitions including the Defensive MVP in Bailey Koy, five on all-district teams, four more all-district honorable mentions and 14 academic all-district distinctions.

Sealy finished as the No. 2 seed from District 24-4A and after district champion Bellville fell in the state semifinal to Decatur, the all-district lists were released.

Koy was a stalwart in the back row for the Lady Tigers as the defensive specialist and routinely led the team in digs and diving saves by the end of each match.

Junior Jasmyne Joiner and sophomore Annabelle Williams represented Sealy on the first-team all-district and both led the charge at the net where they provided a plethora of kills and blocks.

Senior Katie Wagoner and sophomores Blair Kram and Emersyn Cryan all landed on the second-team all-district after they made contributions on all levels from offense to defense to service.

Seniors Julia Jurecka, Breanna Brandes and Courtney Roberts as well as sophomore Grace Eschenburg earned all-district honorable mentions for their efforts. Jurecka was also a key on the frontline and Roberts supplemented the back row play and provided strong serves. Eschenburg similarly contributed from multiple positions and will return next year with plenty of varsity playing experience.

Brandes, who was the district setter of the year her previous three years, missed most of the regular season with a shoulder injury but returned for the second half of district play. Although she was still limited, Brandes used her off-hand to serve and hit and provided leadership in her fourth varsity season.

In addition, Sealy extended a streak after the entire varsity roster earned academic all-district honors for the fifth year in a row.

Kenna Killough, Courtney Roberts, Bailey Koy, Annabelle Williams, Blair Kram, Breanna Brandes, Katie Wagoner, Avery Dittert, Emersyn Cryan, Grace Eschenburg, Julia Jurecka, Emily Askew, Jasmyne Joiner and Krystal Bludau were all rewarded for their work in the classroom with academic all-district nods.

On top of that, all six seniors also earned academic all-state honors from the Texas High School Coaches Association and Texas Army National Guard for maintaining an overall GPA of 92 or above in courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed in grade 12.

Brandes, Killough, Koy, Wagoner and Jurecka all landed on the academic all-state second-team and Roberts earned academic all-state honorable mention.
