The Brazos Cougar cross country team competed in the Frio Friday Night Lights Cross Country Meet last Friday in Sealy.

Individually in the varsity girls’ division, Esmeralda Garcia was third, Denise Hauer finished sixth and Rubi Garcia placed 28th. There were 67 runners in the race.

The varsity boys’ team finished ninth in their division with 227 points. Individually, Brayden Hanzelka was 31st, Bryan Pedroza finished 42nd, Rees Snedaker placed 62nd, Joshua Martinez 79th, Payton Nanez 81st and Wesley Holub 97th. There were 100 runners and 11 teams in the race.

The high school cross country teams will compete Saturday, September 4 in the Bellville Booster Club Invitational in Bellville.
