ROGER SLACK FREY 1944- 2023

Roger Slack Frey, 78, Sealy, Texas, passed away Thursday evening, May 11, 2023, at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, Katy, TX. Roger was born Sept. 17, 1944, in Carthage, MO., the son of the late Elmer Frey and Guyline Isabelle (Slack) Frey. He was a 1962 graduate of Carthage High School. Roger married Janet Todd Sept. 5, 1964, in Carthage, Missouri.

After receiving his training in communications and personnel management in 1967, he worked in management for Southwestern Bell/AT&T until his retirement at age 47. His primary career was Central Office Manager of Operations. He was a member of the Bykota Baptist Church in Carthage. Roger was an avid car enthusiast, and a member of the Camaro Club in Houston, TX. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be remembered for his great love for his family and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Janet Frey; two daughters, Lainie Hardy (Bill), Shreveport, Louisiana, and Kimberley Tucker (James), New Ulm, Texas; three grandchildren, Kaytlin Hardy Kneipp (Chuck Kneipp), Shreveport, Louisiana, Blaine Hardy, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Julia Tucker, New Ulm, Texas; and many extended family and friends.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, LeAnne Collette Frey; a brother, Elmer Ray Frey; and two sisters, Phyllis Joan Lewis Cundiff and Barbara Ellen Gourley.
