Service was held for Mrs. Oneida Dolores Peres, on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Miller-Josey Mortuary Chapel in Bellville, Texas. Mrs. Perez passed away on July 30, 2022 in Katy, Texas. Oneida Dolores was born to Ricardo and Mercedes Rivas Perez on April 11, 1926, in Sao Arriba, Cuba. Her family and friends called her “Nena”. She graduated from school and later received her certification as a seamstress. Oneida worked making and designing beautiful garments for her family and friends. Oneida especially designed and made both of her daughter’s weddings dresses. On February 8, 1966, her application and papers for her and her daughters were approved to come to the United States. The family settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The first major item that Oneida brought, was a sewing machine where she continued to work as a seamstress supporting her family. She also passed her written driver license test on the third try. She then saved money and brought the family their first car. She also loved to dress fashionably and always made sure her curly hair was always in place.

In 2005 she moved to Texas with her daughter, Isabel and family to be closer to her daughter, Felicia and family.

Oneida enjoyed taking care of her granddaughters, reading the Bible, the magazine Watchtower and Awake as well as attending church at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah Witness with her daughter, Isabel.

Oneida is preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Mercedes Rivas Perez, brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts She leaves her precious memories to her two daughters, Isabel Almaguer and Felicita F. (Angel) Fernandez; two granddaughters, Christina (Francisco) Rojas, Maritza Mendez; two grandsons, Bobby (Margie) Fernandez, Angel (Courtney) Fernandez; seven great-grandchildren, Davi and Rylan B., Ava K. and Emily P Fernandez, Fayth and Camila Rojas, Lahnai Figueroa; two greatgreat grandchildren, Leilani and Sofiee; two brothers, Marino Ibrain and Perez Rivas.
